Why Coaching?
What are your goals or desired outcomes from coaching?
Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while but have kept pushing off. I’m trying to work through different things in my life so I can show up better for myself and for the people around me.
Have you tried any methods in the past to achieve these goals?
If so, what did you try?
I haven’t tried therapy or anything like that before. I ’ve mostly been trying to navigate things on my own through reading, podcasts, and reflecting, but I’m realizing it might be helpful to talk through things with someone.
Have you worked with a support person before in trying to make these changes?
If so, why do you feel it did not work?
No, I have not.
How committed and motivated are you to stay engaged in the steps needed to reach your desired outcomes?
I’m very committed to doing the work. Life is really busy right now, but I’m hoping I can make the time because I think it’s important.
Personal growth can sometimes bring challenges you may have avoided in the past.
Are you ready to face these challenges?
I think yes. As I’m getting married and about spending the rest of my life with someone, it feels important to work through things not only for myself but for our relationship as well.
I also don’t want to always rely on him as my main support for everything. I think it’s important to have someone else to talk to and help me work through things so that I can process my thoughts and emotions in a healthier way. My goal is to grow as a person and bring that growth into the relationship too.
When it comes to making changes, how patient are you with yourself?
I’m pretty hard on myself and think I could benefit from being more patient and giving myself a little more grace. Change can sometimes feel scary for me as well.
What appeals to you most about the type of life coaching I provide?
A big part of what I’d like to work on is understanding the things we hold on to—sometimes without even realizing it. Why do we feel certain ways? What past experiences might be influencing how we react or think today?
I also tend to escalate or react quickly when I feel overwhelmed, and I’d like to get better at slowing down, processing things, and working through situations rather than letting them take over.
